Reese Witherspoon split from Jake Gylenhaal, 29, in December. It is definitely time for her to go for a swim in the dating pool, and it looks like she recently dipped her toes in the water and got a bite!

The 33-year-old Oscar winner had a romantic dinner in Santa Monica Thursday night at Locanda Portofino with CAA agent Jim Toth. Witherspoon is a client of the powerful and mighty CAA, so some may be skeptical and call their two-hour flirty meal "just dinner." However, we beg to differ.

The pair were acting "were very flirtatious throughout dinner," says a fellow diner. "They were having a lot of fun, totally getting along and laughing and talking the whole dinner. Reese seemed very happy. She was smiling all dinner. The mood was upbeat and really good." We'd be happy too if we were on a date with a hot Hollywood agent.

A buddy of Toth's says while it was, "a date," it is "nothing serious." The agent likes to date around. "He's enjoying the single life," says his pal.

The meal ended at 11 pm with Toth picking up the check. "Reese reached around his neck and pulled him close for a hug," says the onlooker. "They kissed bye on the cheek – but it was a very friendly goodbye."

Odd are they left in separate cars and met at hotel someplace to get busy...just sayin'!
