Patrick Swayze, who will always be remembered for his libidinous dance moves and famous line, "Nobody puts baby in the corner," died Monday at 57 after a trying battle with pancreatic cancer.
“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” his publicist Annett Wolf said in a statement released Monday night. No other details were given.
Despite being diagnosed with the deadly disease in March of 2008, Swayze decided to keep right on acting in his A&E drama The Beast. The station pulled it from the air after just one season.
Swayze told Barbara Walters in 2009, "I’d say five years is pretty wishful thinking. Two years seems likely if you’re going to believe statistics. I want to last until they find a cure, which means I’d better get a fire under it.”
We extend our condolences to all his loved ones. Today everyone should celebrate the way the actor lived.
